Just having a play with a colleagues photograph. Everyone was asked to edit a particular photograph to make it a banner style picture for a webpage. Here's my offering.

I realized (too late, as usual) that my 365poject photograph page was going to get very unwieldy if I was going to keep adding a picture each day so I have re-vamped the website to take this into account. There is now a main page from which you can access a page per month. So much neater and I don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place. All links have been updated to make sure that everything still works.
Yes, I am bored again but never fear! I have decided to do "a picture a day" for the next year to see if I can shake off the ennui. It's all courtesy of http://365project.org/ and you can see my latest offerings there or you can go to my webpage here (if I remember to update it that is!) I'm just hoping that I don't falter along the way! Wish me luck... (or you can leave a comment for me if you want to.)
...what am I to do? After a six week period when I didn't consider picking up the camera, I finally forced myself off my big, fat @rse (well, not so big and fat since taking up the new diet) and I took myself and my slightly dusty EOS7D out to our local National Trust gardens and put it to some use. I have fallen in love with my trusty Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 again. All that lovely, creamy, dreamy bokeh... I was quite happy with some of the results (I have added five pictures to the Plants and Flowers gallery). It is also the first time outsince upgrading the firmware to the latest version. Can I say that if you haven't done this for your EOS7D yet, you really must? It has a plethora of improvements including in-camera editing for Raw photographs and a vastly improved burst rate. I won't tell you everything because you can read about it here. If you aren't sure how to upgrade your EOS 7D firmware then fear not because Canon tell you how to do it in a handy pdf document that comes down as part of the firmware package when you download it. Go on! Give it a whirl! If you are really that worried then have a chat to your local camera emporium because they will surely be able to do it for you.
I haven't been keeping this website and blog up to date. I could claim being "over busy" as a cause but I think that "sheer idleness" is more likely to be the cause. Yes I have been busy but more than anything, I have lost my will to photograph things. The camera is a dead weight, the results I have been getting are just below the level the average snapper takes on his holidays with his pocket sized snapper. I just need some impetus - that's all. Every day I see interesting things and wonderful lighting conditions but I just can't be bothered to record them. Is there anyone out there who can give me some hints and tips on how to bust out of this crippling "can't be arsed" cycle?
After a happy year or two using Facebook I finally got sick and tired of some of the sniping and comments that I was receiving. Coupled with the ever changing security dynamics involved, I decided that it would be best if I cleaned up and deleted my Facebook account. It took a long time for me to do this yesterday but the deed is now done. I would like to thank all of the people who emailed me to tell me they missed me and I will miss most of you as well but the deed is done. For good measure I have axed my Google+ account but that is different - very few people use it so it's almost as if I have never been on it.
I intend to try and boost my creativity and I want to have a go at being an author but most of all, I want to spend some extra time with my wife who has been putting up with my computer usage with never a word of complaint. I think that I owe it to her to be more attentive. If anyone wants to stay in contact, you can leave me a comment on here with your email address and I will pick it up that way. Otherwise my email address is pauld0teverestatbtinternetd0tcom (just replace the "d0t" and "at" with the appropriate characters). See you around the bazaars! After six months, I have finally completed the photographic course. It has been a challenge and I have met some incredible people along the way. I am now just awaiting my diploma. I would like to say a big "Thank You" to Matt, my tutor for putting up with me and being very helpful with his feedback and support. Not that I shall be leaving the Photography Institute Facebook page for a while - they wouldn't be that lucky! I now have to find something else to do to occupy my time. Anyone think I am up for writing a book? I have included a slideshow of my six chosen portfolio shots that got me my final 10/10 score. Also I would like to share this video clip with you. You can picture the scene, a photographer having a bad day, trying to photograph schoolkids. School Portrait (2011) from Michael Berliner on Vimeo. I have had the time to bolt a few more pics into the vehicles gallery. One of them might just be about to be used in a motorcycle magazine but that will all be down to who owns the copyright. I'll let you know if and when it happens. Oh! I almost forgot... there are some new fungi pictures on the plants and flowers gallery. Pop over if you want to take a look.
Please tell me why I never seem to have enough time? I have been unemployed for almost two years now and despite having the time, I never seem to have enough of it! When you are starting the rapid downhill slide towards your dotage like me then time seems to zip past even faster. Still... I have built a preliminary vehicles webpage which is available from the galleries page or the menu above and I hope to add more pictures to it soon.
It was high time that I built a new gallery. Today it is flowers and plants. I do apologise for the thumping great watermark but there are some unscrupulous people out there.
I thought that when you are bored with my photographs, you might like to visit this chap's website. If I could take photographs like his then I would be more than happy. |
